GoBob’s version of the Bud Box reduces cattle stress, speeds sorting and working, improving the efficiency of the handler.
The brainchild of Bowie, TX. stockman, Bud Williams, the Bud Box, or in this case the Cattle Flow® Box, can be described as a rectangular crowding tub that moves cattle without all the whooping and hollering or crowding and pushing of a conventional crowding tub. GoBob’s version was developed with the assistance of Oklahoma State University and is in use at their facilities today.
Standard Cattle Flow® Box set-ups are available in portable and permanent installations. Both portable and permanent versions are available for the handler that operates on the ground or on horseback. Portable set-ups can be assembled in minutes using chain and tab connectors that work on level or uneven ground.
At OSU’s Cimarron cattle handling facilities near Perkins Oklahoma, they had a need for extra gates to facilitate handlers and versatility of cattle movement. Panel gates are easily substituted where additional openings would improve your efficiency. Let GoBob help you design a Cattle Flow® Box that fits your needs today.
It was an honor to meet and learn from Dr. Tom Noffsinger. Dr. Tom used our version of the Bud Box, the Cattle Flow® Box, in his live cattle demonstration at a seminar sponsored by Merck Animal Health and the Oklahoma State Extension Service in Chickasha, Oklahoma recently. Dr. Noffsinger had high praise for the Cattle Flow® Box.
Many thanks to Chris Stansberry, Range Research Station Supt, Oklahoma State University for fanning the flames to get our interest in devoloping low stress cattle handling equipment and the invaluable advice that he continues to give us.
Many thanks also to Gant Mourer, Beef Value Enhancement Specialist Oklahoma State University Extension. Who in part made it possible for Dr. Tom to use our equipment in his demonstration.
Last but not least I must thank Matt Grammer. Matt is an assistant to Chris but he was right there with the rest of us helping to set up the Cowboy Alley and the Cattle Flow® Box. He also helped me reinstall a roller that jiggled off during the trip to Chickasha.
